Ginger Fox Gallery
Ginger Fox Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Dallas Texas featuring paintings by Ginger Fox and select emerging and mid-career artists. Ginger Fox began focusing full time on her fine art career in 2006 showing her work in established galleries across the United States. After many years of being represented by other successful galleries, the next step of the journey was to open her own gallery in the Bishop Arts District in 2012.
After six full years at Bishop, the gallery was relocated to the Dallas Design District in 2018. In the spacious 5,000 square feet, the location accommodates a larger collection of artworks as well as a working studio for Ginger Fox. The gallery primarily features paintings by Ginger Fox, but also represents a select group of other local fine artists including Juli Price, Jennifer Lashbrook, and Brian Broadway.
Upon visiting the gallery you will find several series of paintings mastered by Fox from magical realism to abstract expressionism. "People are surprised by my abstracts if they are first introduced to my detailed realism. In fact, I have been painting abstract expressionism for over 20 years. There is a freedom I feel during the creation process of pure abstraction, a connection between artist and canvas that has to be honored in order to capture the moment. This process is an instinctive form of painting that requires solitude and uninterrupted focus.”
Fox attributes her painting range to the fact that she is ambidextrous and paints with both hands- sometimes at the same time. She feels as though it might help her in accessing both hemispheres, with each side functioning in very different ways. Detail work seems to require one way of thinking, in which stopping and starting is not a problem, while the purely intuitive loose style of abstract expressionism requires another. She also feels that having the freedom to paint in a variety of styles keeps her creative and inspired which she has more freedom to do since opening Ginger Fox Gallery.
Ginger Fox Biography
Artist Ginger Fox was born and raised in the Panhandle region of West Texas and now works from her gallery studio in Dallas. Primarily a self-taught artist, Fox started her professional career as a decorative artist working with designers on different projects in varying styles. In 2006 she decided to focus full-time on her fine art.
Ginger Fox, with over 20 years of experience, is best known for her unconventional approach to painting in multiple styles.Through years of diligent work she has gained proficiency of painting in styles from realism, minimalism to abstract expressionism.
Regardless of the style, Fox’s humor, aesthetic and optimism comes through. Her personality is on full display in her vintage “Power Club” series in which she not so subtly points to the strength and power of women. In her surrealism series she combines the beauty of our natural world with elements of the manmade. In contrast when painting abstracts Fox loves the freedom she feels.
In 2012 she opened her namesake gallery, Ginger Fox Gallery, where her different collections are on display.
